Good Food Principle: Food Connects

Food connects people and communities in numerous ways and serve as grounds for optimism for a more sustainable food future as these connections grow. From market-based connections between food producers and consumers, to community connections forged through local organizing efforts, the prominence of food in creating community is growing. As a core theme across FLEdGE, the research focused on the connections between people, communities, and food as a key element of creating change in local food systems. Researchers engaged in community-driven and community-led research to supportive positive changes in food systems across Canada and internationally, and further facilitate meaningful connections to local food.
