Sustainable Food Hubs Infographics

Between 2014 and 2017, FLEdGE researchers sent two series of surveys to food producers, processors, and distributors involved in local and sustainable food across Ontario, Canada, about the benefits of and challenges to food hubs. The research and survey results, which was funded through the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), are summarized in two sets of infographics. Scroll through and click on the images to download a PDF version of the 2014 and 2017 infographics

A Sustainable Food Hubs webinar, held in January 2018, presented the findings from this research. It featured Katie Nolan (OMAFRA), Kendal Donahue (OMAFRA), Phil Mount (JustFood Farm Ottawa), and Alison Blay-Palmer (Laurier Centre for Sustainable Food Systems), and included OMAFRA’s role in supporting food systems work as well as practical considerations for food hub operations. A PDF version of the presentation slides is available.
