Territorial Integration & Metrics
Territorial Integration explores food systems flows within urban/peri-urban/rural spaces. These include flows of materials, knowledge, people and resources. As a working group, FLEdGE researchers explored ways to benchmark and track these movements.
The FLEdGE Territorial Integration Working Group partners included representatives from The RUAF Foundation, theĀ UN-FAO Food for Cities Initiative, the UNESCO Chair in World Food Systems and theĀ Centre for Regional Food Systems at Michigan State University.
A key theme for this working group was the development of metrics for measuring food system sustainability. Other issues that were considered include:
- how to define city region food system boundaries
- processes of participatory, multi-stakeholder, community engagement for CRFS work
- good practices and tool development for data collection
