On September 7, 8, and 9th, we were delighted to welcome researchers, community partners, and students from around the world to the 2017 FLEdGE Meeting at the Balsillie School for International Affairs in Waterloo, ON. FLEdGE2017 included three days of engaged discussion about FLEdGE sustainable food systems research where FLEdGE partners shared information about their ongoing work, identified comparative research opportunities, discussed successes and challenges, and workshoped collaborative projects.

This SSHRC and Wilfrid Laurier University funded event marks the mid-point of the FLEdGE Partnership Grant.

The first two days of #FLEdGE2017 consisted of presentations and discussions that focused on sustainable food systems work in four key areas: Hard and Soft Infrastructures, Food Growing, Indigenous Food Systems, and Food Policy and Assessment. The third day of the meeting consisted of meetings of the Innovative Governance and City Region Food Systems Metrics Working Groups.
