This scan, conducted by FLEdGE RA Alison Earls, identifies key food security challenges pertaining to transportation and infrastructure in Northern Ontario.

In particular, the report highlights the need to:

1) Develop a more complete inventory of all local food wholesalers, retailers, food co-ops, food hubs and online distribution hubs;

2) Deepen our understanding of existing road infrastructure, existing delivery options, and existing logistics plans,

3) Enable stronger communications between support organizations and local producers; and

4) Identify key physical infrastructure throughout Northern Ontario which is integral to local food systems.
