How to Register
Registration for the Agroecology Field School & Summit is open to anyone with an interest in Agroecology. Ticket prices are on a sliding scale and include a light lunch. Optional tickets for the Barn Dance and Dinner are also available. Link to the registration form here.

As part of the Agroecology Field School and Research Summit, we will be collecting video footage, audio recordings, and photos to share learnings and insights through an online public report, peer-reviewed journal articles, and videos. Participation is entirely voluntary and all information recorded will be treated in good faith. All participants will be asked to complete the Agroecology Research Summit Information Form to indicate whether or not they consent to participation in this research. Staying in Ottawa
A limited number of rooms have been reserved at a great rate at Ottawa University. These rooms are suite-style. Each suite has two bedrooms and includes a kitchenette; and can accommodate up to four people per suite. This residence is conveniently located downtown, close to The Shaw Center, Parliament Hill, and the ByWard Market. If you are interested in booking one of these rooms, please contact Victoria Schembri at vschembr [at] lakeheadu.ca and she can place you in a room with others attending the Agroecology Field School & Research Summit. If you would like to request up to three people to be roomed with, please include that in your email.
If you are interested in camping or billeting, please contact Victoria and we can provide information for those options, as well.
Getting to Just Food Farms
We strongly encourage that you take public transit or bike to the Just Food Farm if you are nearby, as parking at the farm is limited.
Just Food Farms is located at 2391 Pepin Court, Ottawa, Ontario.
To get from the University of Ottawa residences to Just Food: Take the 94 bus to Millenium from Laurier 1A. The trip should take approximately 40 minutes and your stop will be announced on the bus, the stop is called Innes/Tauvette. From the stop, you will need to cross the street and walk to Pépin Court and the Just Food Farm.
On Saturdays the 94 bus runs every half hour before 9 and after 5. To arrive at the Just Food Farm in time for the start of the Agroecology Field School and Research Summit, participants will need to catch the bus either between 7:00 am and 7:30 am or between 7:30 am and 8:00 am.
Getting to the University of Ottawa
If you are flying in for the event, complimentary shuttles from the airport to the University of Ottawa will not be provided. Conveniently, Ottawa’s public transit system has a bus route that takes you from the Airport directly to the University. Bus tickets are $3.50 and can be bought with cash on the bus (or $3.45 with a Presto Pass). To plan your trip, you can use the OC Transportation Travel planner at http://plan.octranspo.com/plan
To get from the Ottawa Airport to the University of Ottawa, take the 97 bus (direction to Bells Corners) from the airport bus stop on Airport Private. The trip should take 35-40 min and your stop will be announced on the bus, the stop is called Laurier 2A. From there, you will exit the bus stop and walk to the residence located at 90 University (see map: http://www.uottawa.ca/facilities/sites/www.uottawa.ca.facilities/files/2018mainparkingmap.pdf)
To get from the Ottawa Train Station to the University of Ottawa, take the 61 bus (direction to Terry Fox) from the train station bus stop at 200 Tremblay Road (directly outside of the station). The trip should take 15 minutes and your stop will be announced on the bus, the stop is called Laurier 2A. From there, you will exit the bus stop and walk to the residence located at 90 University (see map: http://www.uottawa.ca/facilities/sites/www.uottawa.ca.facilities/files/2018mainparkingmap.pdf)
If you are driving to the event, parking is available at the University of Ottawa for $9.00 a day (information at http://www.uottawa.ca/parking/parking-services/visitors-daily-parking-rates).
