Territorial Integration explores food systems flows within urban/peri-urban/rural spaces. These include flows of materials, knowledge, people and resources. As a working group, we explore ways to benchmark and track these movements.
The FLEdGE Territorial Integration Working Group partners include representatives from The RUAF Foundation, the UN-FAO Food for Cities Initiative, the UNESCO Chair in World Food Systems and the Centre for Regional Food Systems at Michigan State University.
A key theme that we work on is the development of metrics for measuring food system sustainability. Other issues we are considering include:
- How to define city region food system boundaries
- Processes of participatory, multi-stakeholder, community engagement for CRFS work
- Good practices and tool development for data collection
