FLEdGE researcher Peter Andree and co-authors delve into two previous Canadian National food strategies to determine barriers to successfully implementing a nationwide food policy based on previous difficulties in this article. Recommendations are made about the implementation of such a plan in order for it to be successful. The authors advise the construction of a National Food Policy Council for Canada to ensure strong intra and inter-governmental coordination and public engagement along with various other instruments.
